Christopher H. Tienken, EdD founded GoTeach Consultants in the year 2000. Dr. Tienken has been involved in numerous large grant projects totally over $50 million dollars in funds, and currently leads a team of researchers and practitioners who evaluate federal and state education grants across the nation. The United States Department of Education, Institute of Education Sciences recognized Dr. Tienken’s research on professional development in a 2007 report, and in 2008 he was awarded the Best Research Award from the National Staff Development Council.

Dr. Tienken is a full-time professor at a leading private university in the Northeast, teaching in the College of Education, Department of Education Leadership, Management, and Policy. He has an active research and publication agenda and presents annually at national conferences such as the American Association of School Administrators, American Education Research Association, and the National Association of Secondary School Principals. He has presented numerous papers at the University of Rome, Italy and the Istituto Superiore Statale Regina Margherita, in Palermo, Italy, on the topic of job-embedded professional development, curricular extremism, and the organization of schooling in America. He was also named as a visiting scholar at the Universita` degli Studi Roma Tre in Rome, Italy during the 2009 academic year.

Dr. Tienken’s research interests include the influence of professional development on teacher behavior and student achievement; the influence of curriculum and instruction interventions on student achievement; and the reliability and validity of large scale testing programs. He has authored over 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals and books and is currently the Editor of the AASA Journal of Scholarship and Practice and the Kappa Delta Pi Record.
